Bollywood legend Sharmila Tagore recently shared her thoughts on the film journeys of her grandchildren Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan.
While the veteran actress expressed pride in both, she did not hold back her candid opinion about Ibrahim’s debut film Naadaaniyan, the son of Saif Ali Khan.
According to an Indian media report, Sharmila Tagore stated in an interview that “Sara and Ibrahim are doing well, but Ibrahim’s performance in Naadaaniyan wasn’t good, though he looked very handsome on screen.”
She added, “Ibrahim tried his best in the film, and perhaps these things shouldn’t be said openly, but to be honest, the film wasn’t good—and that’s what matters.”
Meanwhile, she praised Sara Ali Khan, calling her a “good actress” and noting that Sara is hardworking, talented, and capable of achieving great success.
It is worth mentioning that Naadaaniyan, co-starring Khushi Kapoor, garnered public attention due to the duo’s star kid status.
However, the film failed to impress both critics and audiences, receiving mixed to negative reviews for the young actors’ performances.
Following heavy trolling on social media, several prominent personalities, including Karan Johar, Hansal Mehta, Jugal Hansraj, and Dia Mirza, defended the young stars, reminding viewers that judging actors solely on their debut is unfair.
Directed by Ayesha Gautam, Naadaaniyan is a romantic drama that explores themes of first love, passion, and innocence.
The story revolves around Piya Jai Singh (Khushi) and Arjun Mehta (Ibrahim), portraying a complex romantic relationship between two individuals from different backgrounds who believe their lives are perfect—until emotions begin to take control.
The film also features Dia Mirza and Jugal Hansraj as Arjun’s parents, while Suniel Shetty and Mahima Chaudhry play the roles of Piya’s parents.
