Rainfall in Karachi has turned the weather pleasant, while the Meteorological Department has forecast that the city is likely to experience more heavy downpours over the next three to four days.
According to the Met Office, rainfall is expected to continue throughout the day in different parts of the city. Areas including Tariq Road, Azizabad, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Boat Basin, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Hassan Square, and Federal B. Area witnessed light to heavy showers.
Similarly, rain was also recorded in Airport, Metropole, Shah Faisal, Korangi, Buffer Zone, Surjani, Clifton, Defence, Qayyumabad, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Scheme 33, Safora Chowrangi, and Malir. In addition, Qaidabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Model Colony, Green Town, Wireless Gate, Colony Gate, and other areas also received light showers, while Gul Mandir, Naya Nazimabad, DHA, and Lyari experienced heavy rainfall. Several main roads were inundated, affecting the flow of traffic.
The Meteorological Department stated that thunderstorms and rain are expected in Karachi over the next three to four days. Rain is likely to continue intermittently throughout the day, with heavy downpours also expected tomorrow. According to the forecast, this system will remain active until August 23 and may bring two to three more spells of rain across the city.
