Karachi: Several parts of the city woke up to light showers and drizzle early Friday morning, bringing some much-needed relief from the heat. The brief spell of rain cooled the air and left residents enjoying a pleasant start to the day.
Areas including Defence, Korangi Road, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Burns Road, and M.A. Jinnah Road saw light rainfall that slowed traffic in spots and left streets damp. Similar drizzle was also reported in Qayyumabad, Mehmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, Baloch Colony, and surrounding neighborhoods.
University Road, Jamshed Road, Jehangir Road, and parts of Gulshan-e-Iqbal were also hit by light rain. Residents said the drizzle brought welcome relief from the muggy weather, though they remained concerned about possible waterlogging on busy roads.
The Meteorological Department has forecast heavier showers in University Road, Gulistan-e-Johar, and Scheme 33, warning that rainwater may accumulate on several key roads. Citizens have been urged to take precautions, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay alert during wet conditions.
Officials also stressed that people should follow safety measures to minimize inconvenience and avoid any untoward incidents during the rainfall.
