Earthquake tremors were felt in various areas of Karachi and Balochistan, causing panic among residents. In Karachi, tremors were reported in I.I. Chundrigar Road, Lyari, Saddar, Clifton, PECHS, and DHA, prompting people to step out of their homes and workplaces as a precaution.
According to sources, tremors were also felt in Site Area, Tipu Sultan Road, Pehlwan Goth, and Bahria Town. The Seismological Center stated that the earthquake was recorded at 12:51 pm.
Following the tremors, residents of a building in Lyari’s Naya Abad area came out in fear, while police and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Rescue officials confirmed that no damage was observed to the building during the initial inspection, and rescue teams are continuing a detailed assessment as a safety measure.
Sources further reported that tremors were also felt in Balochistan’s areas including Winder, Hub, Gadani, and Somiani. According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale with a depth of 12 kilometers, and its epicenter was located near Somiani, about 87 kilometers from Karachi.
Earlier, an earthquake was also recorded in Sibi and surrounding areas a few hours prior, with a magnitude of 3.2. The epicenter of that quake was located 53 kilometers southwest of Sibi.
No immediate reports of casualties or property damage have been received following the earthquakes.
