Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to accelerate nationwide efforts against tax evasion, emphasizing that all administrative and legal steps must be taken to ensure efficient revenue collection.
A detailed review meeting on the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, during which officials briefed him on revenue collection, expansion of the tax net, and ongoing administrative measures. During the meeting, the prime minister stressed that incidents of tax evasion must not be tolerated and that strict action should be taken against individuals responsible for causing financial loss to the national exchequer.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed all provincial governments to fully cooperate with FBR teams in legal actions against unauthorized petrol pumps. He stated that such illegal operations not only damage national revenue but also create unfair competition in the market, making a joint strategy essential for their elimination.
