Investigations have been formally launched against Najaf Hameed, brother of former senior military officer Faiz Hameed, in a corruption and assets-beyond-means case, marking a significant development in the matter.
According to sources, the inquiry has been initiated by the Federal Investigation Agency’s Anti-Corruption Cell, which is examining multiple aspects of the case.
Sources said that the FIA has conducted raids at various locations to arrest Najaf Hameed, while details have also been sought from all relevant institutions to obtain a comprehensive record of his financial affairs and assets.
It has further been reported that Najaf Hameed’s name has been added to the PNL, and details of his bank accounts have also been requested to scrutinize financial transactions thoroughly.
Earlier, a subordinate court in Islamabad had cancelled Najaf Hameed’s interim bail in a land scam case, following which legal proceedings against him have gained momentum.
