Following the spread of the Nipah virus in India, the Sindh Health Department has issued an advisory urging precautionary measures and heightened vigilance. The advisory states that the Nipah virus can be transmitted from animals to humans as well as from human to human; however, no case of the virus has been reported in Pakistan so far.
According to the advisory, the virus may have multiple causes, while its early symptoms include fever, headache, cough, body aches, and vomiting, which should not be ignored. The health department has advised individuals to seek immediate medical attention if such symptoms appear.
The Sindh Health Department said that the situation is being closely monitored and that all public and private hospitals have been put on alert. The advisory further instructed healthcare facilities to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the federal health ministry to ensure preparedness and prevent any potential outbreak.
