FIFA has taken an extraordinary and historic decision by granting the Afghan women’s football team the official right to participate in international matches, allowing the team to compete at the global level for the first time.
The team consists largely of Afghan refugee women, who have now been allowed to represent at international competitions, marking a significant achievement after a long period of waiting.
According to FIFA, the “Afghan Women United Team” has been granted the status of Afghanistan’s official national women’s team, enabling it to formally participate in global tournaments and represent the country on the international stage.
