According to the official news agency, a decrease in the total government debt volume was recorded during October.
According to statistics released by the State Bank, at the end of October 2024, the total debt of the central government stood at 69,114 billion rupees, which is 0.7% lower compared to September. At the end of September, the central government’s total debt was recorded at 69,570 billion rupees.
At the end of October, the government’s domestic debt stood at 47,271 billion rupees, which is 0.6% lower compared to September. At the end of September, the government’s domestic debt was recorded at 47,536 billion rupees.
According to the central bank’s statistics, a decrease in the government’s external debt was also recorded at the end of October. The total external debt of the government stood at 21,884 billion rupees, which is 0.7% lower compared to September. In September, the total external debt was recorded at 22,034 billion rupees.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves have increased. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the total dollar reserves amount to 16.62 billion dollars.
In one week, there was an increase of 620 million dollars. According to a report from a reputable national newspaper, commercial banks currently have 4.58 billion dollars. Thus, on November 29, the country’s total foreign exchange reserves reached 16.62 billion dollars.
