There is a possibility of an increase of 3.5 to 6.5 rupees in the prices of petroleum products from January 16.
According to a private TV channel, the price of petrol may rise by 3.53 rupees per liter, while the price of diesel may increase by 3.66 rupees per liter.
Due to the rise in oil prices in the global market, an increase in prices is also expected in Pakistan. In the context of export restrictions on oil to China and India, the price of crude oil has increased to 81 dollars per barrel.
This price is the highest since August 2024. On the other hand, work is being done to increase the price of kerosene oil by 4.98 rupees per liter and light diesel oil by 6.20 rupees per liter. The final decision regarding the prices of petroleum products will be made after consultation with the Ministry of Finance and approval from the Prime Minister.
