In the second Test match in Multan, the West Indies defeated Pakistan. With this loss, the series between Pakistan and the West Indies is now tied 1-1.
Played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan managed to score only 133 runs in pursuit of the 254-run target set by the West Indies. The visitors emerged victorious by 120 runs.
At the start of play on day three, Saud Shakeel was dismissed for 13 runs with the team total at 76. Shortly thereafter, fast bowler Kashif Ali departed for just 1 run. With Pakistan’s score at 115, Salman Ali Agha was out for 15 runs. At 122 runs, Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 25, returned to the pavilion. Nauman Ali followed soon after with 6 runs, and the last man out was Sajid Khan, who contributed 7 runs.
From the West Indies’ bowling attack, Jomel Warrican bagged 5 wickets, Kevin Sinclair took 3, and Gudakesh Motie claimed 2.
In their second innings, the West Indies were bowled out for 244 runs, handing Pakistan a 254-run target. By the end of the second day, Pakistan had reached 76 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
Chasing the target, the Pakistani team struggled early on. Captain Shan Masood and Mohammad Huraira both fell for just 2 runs, followed by Babar Azam for 31 and Kamran Ghulam for 19. Saud Shakeel (13) and Kashif Ali (1) were at the crease at the time.
Earlier, in the first innings of the second Test, the West Indies were all out for 163. In reply, Pakistan managed 154 in their first innings.
