A disturbing video from Karachi’s upscale Defence area is rapidly going viral on social media, showing a man in a luxury vehicle violently assaulting a motorcyclist. The video clearly shows the young victim’s sisters repeatedly pleading for mercy with folded hands, but the assault did not stop.
According to police, the incident took place near Khayaban-e-Ittehad Commercial, where the car driver and his companions attacked the youth after a minor collision. The victim was traveling with his sisters when their motorcycle was hit by a car.
The car used in the assault was traced through its number plate to Salman Farooqi, reportedly the head of an advertising company called Bionic Films. Police raided the office located on Khayaban-e-Ittehad, but the suspect was not found there.
DIG South Asad Raza stated that the vehicle, its driver, and a security guard involved in the incident have been taken into custody. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the main suspect. Police also confirmed that the victim’s family has not yet lodged an official complaint, although efforts are being made to contact them.
A police spokesperson clarified that the suspect is not a government employee and will not escape the law. An FIR is being registered, and the case is being handled with full seriousness.
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and requested immediate details from the SSP South. He emphasized that no one is above the law and that all those involved will face action.
