Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will arrive in Pakistan on a two-day official visit starting August 2.
According to the Iranian President’s political advisor Mehdi Sanaei, President Pezeshkian will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, the Chairman Senate, and the Speaker of the National Assembly during his visit.
The advisor added that Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to strengthen political, economic, religious, and cultural relations between the two neighboring countries.
He further stated that enhancing provincial and border cooperation, along with expanding the current $3 billion trade volume, will also be part of the visit’s agenda.
It is worth noting that Masoud Pezeshkian will be the second Iranian President to visit Pakistan in the past two years. In April 2024, former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi conducted a three-day official visit to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had also confirmed a few days ago that the Iranian President would soon undertake an official visit to Pakistan.
