Pakistan and India are set to clash once again, but this time the competition will not be on a cricket pitch. Instead, the spotlight will shift to Tokyo, where the World Athletics Championship is underway, and Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem will go head-to-head with India’s Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra. Germany’s Weber and several other top throwers will also be in action.
According to the schedule, the qualifying round of the javelin throw event will take place on Wednesday at 4:45 PM Pakistan Standard Time. Only the top eight performers from this stage will move forward to the final, which is set to be held on Thursday.
Ahead of the contest, Arshad Nadeem appealed to the nation for prayers. “Just as the entire country supported me during the Paris Olympics, I hope you will remember me in your prayers again for this championship,” he said.
Nadeem added that he has trained with full dedication and is determined to deliver his best. He emphasized that his ultimate goal is to once again raise Pakistan’s name proudly on the global stage.
