KARACHI: Police in Karachi carried out multiple operations across the city, arresting several members of dacoit gangs in injured condition, while one suspect was killed during an exchange of fire. Weapons, mobile phones, cash, expensive watches, motorcycles, and a stolen white Corolla were recovered during the raids.
Gadap City and Ferozabad
Teams from Gadap City, Ferozabad, and the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) arrested five injured suspects during separate encounters late Tuesday night. Fazal Wahid and Zakirullah were arrested near Bakaei Toll Plaza, along with a snatched motorcycle from Gulshan-e-Maymar. In Ferozabad, suspects Farhad and Usman were apprehended on Shaheed-e-Millat Road with weapons, cash, and a motorcycle.
Sharifabad
In Sharifabad, AVLC arrested car lifter Muhammad Saleem, alias Malik, a key gang war member with a criminal record. A white Corolla (ADE-333), stolen in 2022, was recovered from his possession.
Korangi
In Korangi’s Noorani Basti area, citizens caught two suspected robbers during a robbery attempt and beat them up. One of the suspects was killed in the incident, while the other was injured and shifted to Jinnah Hospital. Police have started investigating the case, but the suspects remain unidentified.
Defence
Sahil Police arrested four members of a five-member dacoit gang near Defence Phase 8. The suspects were identified as Anees William, Amjad Khalil, Sono Khokhar, and Zeeshan Ali, while the fifth suspect, Zeeshan Haider, managed to escape. Police recovered illegal pistols, mobile phones, expensive watches, bracelets, and identity cards. According to officials, the suspects confessed to multiple street crimes and robberies in different parts of the city.
