Serious revelations have emerged regarding Indian criminal networks operating in Canada. According to a report by the Australian magazine Spectator Australia, the activities of Indian criminal groups have been increasing across Canada, involving extortion, blackmail, and other serious crimes.
The Australian publication reported that since January this year, at least 35 extortion incidents have been recorded in the Canadian city of Surrey. In addition, more than 1,500 cases of blackmail linked to Indian groups have surfaced in the province of Ontario over the past three years, raising serious concerns for law enforcement agencies.
The report further stated that the notorious Indian Bishnoi gang has been found involved in extortion and criminal activities in Canada. According to the magazine, Canadian police reports have also accused the Indian government of using criminal groups for its interests.
Moreover, Sikh groups have alleged that the Bishnoi gang, allegedly acting at the behest of the Indian government, is targeting supporters of Khalistan, adding to security concerns and straining international relations within Canada.
