The resignation of Sardar Akhtar Mengal from his membership of the National Assembly has been formally accepted.
According to sources, the Speaker of the National Assembly approved the resignation of the Balochistan National Party chief and informed the relevant authorities accordingly.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from NA-256 Khuzdar and had submitted his resignation on September 3, 2024. However, his resignation has now been accepted after nearly 17 months, and his seat has been declared vacant.
It is noteworthy that Sardar Akhtar Mengal is considered a prominent political figure in Balochistan, and the acceptance of his resignation is being viewed as a significant development in political circles.
