Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that there has never been any discussion at any level regarding transferring PTI founder Imran Khan abroad or to Bani Gala, dismissing circulating reports as baseless.
Khawaja Asif said that it is possible that Imran Khan may have been approached regarding certain facilities, but rumors about a deal are being spread merely to keep the issue alive in the political arena.
He remarked that there is nothing left in this “product,” and that talk of a deal is being used to keep political relevance intact, though in reality no such development exists.
The Defence Minister further said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is facing political pressure and has announced a “Rahai Force” to safeguard his position, calling the move unconstitutional and illegal, as no authority other than the federation has the right to establish a force.
Khawaja Asif added that US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s political and military leadership and acknowledged the strength of the Pakistan Army and the capabilities of the Field Marshal at an international gathering, stating that the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States was positive and beneficial for Pakistan.
He also said that commitments were made during the Gaza Peace Board meeting regarding the resettlement of Palestinians, expressing hope that Gaza will be rebuilt and Palestinians will continue to reside there.
