According to Iranian media, the delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, currently in Islamabad, is expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today, while talks with US officials will depend on the acceptance of preconditions.
Reports suggest that formal negotiations with US officials may begin in the afternoon if Washington approves the terms set by the Iranian delegation, marking a key diplomatic development.
The delegation includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as head of the political committee, while Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati leads the economic committee, Admiral Ahmadian heads the military committee, and Esmail Baghaei leads the legal committee.
Sources indicate that the Iranian delegation comprises around 70 members, including key negotiators and a 26-member technical and specialized team.
These committees are focused on economic, security, and political matters to provide real-time consultation during the sensitive negotiations.
The delegation also includes a 23-member media team, along with protocol staff, coordinators, translators, and security personnel.
