Lahore: The mystery surrounding the brutal murder of three children in the Ichhra area has been solved, with police confirming during initial investigation that the biological mother is the perpetrator, who has also confessed to the crime within hours.
DIG Investigation Zeeshan Raza stated in a press conference that evidence from the crime scene and contradictions in the statements of the husband and wife played a key role in solving the case, leading investigators to the truth.
During initial interrogation, the accused confessed that her husband would question her character and the children, often taunting her, which led her to take the extreme step of purchasing a knife from the market and killing all three children.
According to the DIG Investigation, the woman attempted to mislead authorities after the incident by staging a drama to present herself as innocent and tried to shift the blame for the murders onto her mother-in-law.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran added that after committing the crime, the woman locked the house and left, and upon returning, the lock appeared unchanged, however, her unusual confidence made the investigation easier, while significant evidence was also recovered from the scene.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered, and according to the FIR, the woman stated that she did not want to continue living with her husband, which led her to commit the act.
It is noteworthy that the bodies of 5-year-old Momina Batool, 4-year-old Momin Raza, and one-and-a-half-year-old Amma Habiba were found with slit throats in a house in Ichhra, and initial evidence suggested that a sharp weapon was used in the killings.
