Former federal minister and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Fawad Chaudhry, has said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the federal cabinet may become ineligible for more than 5 years.
In a statement regarding the Practice and Procedure Bill of the Supreme Court, Fawad Chaudhry objected to its implementation, saying that the majority of the Supreme Court had foiled the government’s conspiracy to reduce the powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. He further added that in the face of an unrepresented parliament, the final majority of the people stand behind the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court.
He also said that the government is taking all possible steps to avoid the elections. There is no provision for favorable judges or benches in the constitution, and if the demand is accepted, the judicial system will collapse.
