The federal government has decided to continue its austerity measures during the current fiscal year to control public spending.
According to sources, the federal cabinet has approved an extension of the austerity measures, after which the Cabinet Division sent a directive to the Ministry of Finance for implementation.
Under the decision, all government positions that have remained vacant for the past three years will be abolished, while the creation of new posts will continue to be banned.
Sources said the purchase of all types of government vehicles will also remain prohibited during the current fiscal year.
The restrictions on the procurement of machinery and equipment will also remain in place.
In addition, the ban on overseas medical treatment at government expense and non-essential foreign visits will continue.
According to sources, the Ministry of Finance is expected to issue a formal notification regarding these austerity measures soon.
