Unofficial and provisional results from the first phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections show the Pakistan Muslim League (N) leading with eight seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has won four of the 12 constituencies declared so far.
Polling was held across 13 constituencies in the Mirpur Division, covering Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber. Vote counting began after polling concluded, with an additional hour allowed for voters already present at polling stations.
According to the unofficial results, the PML-N has won LA-1 Mirpur 1, LA-4 Mirpur 4, LA-5 Bhimber 1, LA-7 Bhimber 3, LA-9 Kotli 2, LA-11 Kotli 4, LA-12 Kotli 5 and LA-13 Kotli 6.
The PPP secured victories in LA-2 Mirpur 2, LA-3 Mirpur 3, LA-8 Kotli 1 and LA-10 Kotli 3.
The declared winners include:
- Azhar Sadiq (PML-N) – LA-1
- Qasim Majeed (PPP) – LA-2
- Chaudhry Yasar Sultan (PPP) – LA-3
- Chaudhry Rukhsar Ahmed (PML-N) – LA-4
- Waqar Ahmed Noor (PML-N) – LA-5
- Chaudhry Tariq Farooq (PML-N) – LA-7
- Zafar Iqbal Malik (PPP) – LA-8
- Umair Naeem (PML-N) – LA-9
- Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin (PPP) – LA-10
- Muhammad Asif (PML-N) – LA-11
- Muhammad Riyasat Khan (PML-N) – LA-12
- Raja Ayaz Ahmed Khan (PML-N) – LA-13
Meanwhile, counting is still underway in LA-6 Bhimber 2, where unofficial results show PML-N candidate Chaudhry Muhammad Razaq holding the lead over Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party candidate Ali Shan Chaudhry.
These results remain unofficial and provisional. The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will announce the official final results.
