Investigations are continuing into the death of Mir Raza Ali, a resident of Karachi’s PECHS area whose body was found in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, as officials examine several aspects of the case.
According to investigative sources, CCTV footage shows Mir Raza Ali leaving his shop in Bahadurabad late on July 28 before returning home, where he left behind his car, smartwatch, house keys and cash.
The sources said that he later booked an online taxi service and travelled to Gulistan-e-Jauhar alone. Investigators also reported that his mobile phone was switched off shortly afterwards.
Police officials say that inquiries are under way to determine whether the incident was the result of homicide or suicide.
According to investigative sources, Mir Raza Ali was involved in digital currency trading in addition to his other business activities and had attracted investments from several individuals.
The sources claimed that he began facing financial difficulties in late 2025 and that the situation worsened in the following months.
Investigators further alleged that he had accumulated debts ranging from Rs500 million to Rs800 million as a result of business losses.
Police have also recorded a statement from his fiancée, who, according to the sources, had remained in contact with him on the night of the incident.
Officials said that the investigation is continuing and that a final conclusion will be reached after all available evidence has been examined.
