The government has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products and issued a notification outlining the revised rates.
According to a statement released by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs4.08 per litre, bringing the new price down to Rs331.95 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been cut by Rs2.45 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs389.93 per litre.
Officials said that the revised prices have come into effect immediately.
The government periodically reviews fuel prices based on international crude oil prices and other economic factors.
