Media reports have suggested that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye could sign a joint defence agreement, although no official confirmation has yet been issued by the three countries.
According to the reports, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia today, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are already in the kingdom with a high-level delegation.
Sources said discussions are under way on defence cooperation, regional security and strategic coordination, raising the possibility of a trilateral agreement.
Reports also indicated that the meeting in Saudi Arabia could focus on developments in the Middle East, tensions involving Iran, the security of maritime routes and broader defence cooperation.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia already maintain strategic ties in several sectors, while Pakistan and Kuwait have also expanded defence cooperation in recent months.
Meanwhile, an American television network has claimed that President Donald Trump is expected to hold a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding regional developments.
No official statement has yet been issued by the governments of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Türkiye regarding the proposed agreement.
