Hyderabad: MQM-Pakistan Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said Pakistan is the “motherland” and is indivisible, while all other territorial divisions are administrative units.
Addressing a Defence and Martyrs Day ceremony in Hyderabad, Siddiqui said power had moved from one feudal elite to another and remained concentrated in their hands.
“When decisions do not come, decisions are made on the streets, and MQM has seen the streets,” he said.
Siddiqui said it should be made clear before the public that Pakistan was the indivisible motherland, while the rest were administrative units.
Speaking about the 18th Constitutional Amendment, he said MQM participated in the process because even without its involvement, the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would have proceeded with the amendment.
Separately, Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal said that a year ago Pakistanis were not accorded due importance, but today global powers were looking towards Pakistan’s field marshal and prime minister to help resolve their problems.
Kamal also claimed that Pakistan had prevented a third world war and was now in a position to engage with global powers on equal terms and with dignity.
