Dubai: Pakistan Women defeated Hong Kong Women by 72 runs to qualify for the Women’s Asia Cup semi-final, where they will face Sri Lanka on September 11.
Batting first in Dubai, Pakistan posted 143 for eight in their allotted 20 overs.
Shawaal Zulfiqar led the scoring with 47 runs, while Ayesha Zafar contributed 26. Captain Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 24.
Chasing a target of 144, Hong Kong were bowled out for just 71 as Pakistan spinner Nashra Sandhu produced a record-breaking bowling performance.
Nashra claimed six wickets for only seven runs, recording the best bowling figures in Pakistan Women’s T20 history.
The 72-run victory secured Pakistan’s place in the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup.
Pakistan Women will now face Sri Lanka Women in the semi-final on September 11.
