Twenty-four government educational institutions in Islamabad will be closed from September 22 due to the planned long march.
According to sources, government schools are being used to accommodate additional police personnel being deployed in the federal capital. As a result, the 24 institutions will remain closed.
Sources said educational activities at the closed schools would remain suspended for the time being. The Federal Directorate of Education has not yet formulated any policy regarding online classes or alternative educational arrangements.
The Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have announced long marches towards Islamabad. In response, containers have been placed on several major roads across the capital.
