Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, said the Strait of Hormuz would not be reopened and negotiations would not resume until Iran’s conditions were met.
According to Iranian media, Rezaei said Iran would not return to the negotiation framework that existed before the war and that the United States would have to take the first step.
He said Iran had prepared seven conditions for resolving the conflict. These conditions had been provided in writing to Pakistan and Qatar. Until they were fulfilled, Iran would neither reopen the Strait of Hormuz nor return to negotiations.
Rezaei urged regional countries not to become part of what he called US adventurism. He warned that if they did not allow Iranian aircraft to use their airspace, flights would also be unable to operate from their own airports.
He described US President Donald Trump’s remarks at the UN General Assembly as a “clumsy and foolish defence” by an accused war criminal and defeated aggressor. Rezaei claimed that Iran had not attacked any country since the Islamic Revolution and had only defended itself.
He also claimed that Iranian forces had, for the first time, become capable of flying a missile directly over the USS George Washington carrier fleet.
