Sahibzada Farhan, who led Pakistan’s T20 team at the Asian Games, has been proposed to continue as captain for the home T20 series against Sri Lanka.
According to sources, head coach Mike Hesson supports replacing Salman Ali Agha with Sahibzada Farhan as captain in the T20 format.
Young players are also likely to be given opportunities in the series against Sri Lanka. A pool of players is being developed with the 2028 T20 World Cup in mind. Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf are not expected to return.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play three T20 matches on October 9, 11 and 13 in Rawalpindi.
