On May 9th, former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan was arrested, along with renowned fashion designer Khadija Shah, who turned herself in to Lahore Police, amidst allegations of inciting violence.
Khadija Shah, the daughter of former Finance Minister Salman Shah, was wanted by the police, who claim that she was among the instigators involved in the attacks at Lahore Command House on May 9th.
The prominent fashion designer had been nominated in an FIR (First Information Report) at Sarwar Road Police Station on charges of terrorism and other accusations.
Senior police officials confirmed that Khadija Shah appeared before Lahore CAA (Counter-Terrorism Department) Headquarters and was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
A senior official stated that Khadija Shah is a strong supporter of the PTI, and she had been in hiding since the police started conducting raids for her arrest.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that after expressing dissatisfaction over the police’s failure, a high-ranking official, the IG Punjab (Inspector General of Punjab), ordered the enforcement agencies to intensify the raids at various locations for her arrest, which led to her apprehension yesterday.
