Islamabad: Electricity is expected to be more expensive by 10 rupees 32 paise per unit for the people of Karachi. The receipts will be made in September, October, November 2023.
According to the details, a request has been filed to increase the price of electricity for Karachi by 10 rupees 32 paisa per unit, the government’s request to increase the price of electricity has been submitted to Nepra.
The increase has been sought in 3 different quarterly adjustments of 2022-23, an increase of 47 paise has been requested in the quarterly adjustment of October-December 2022.
The petition requested that collections be allowed in September, October, November 2023 and collected Rs 4.45 per unit under quarterly adjustment for July-September 2022.
These increases, as stated in the government’s request for September and October 2023, propose applying the April to June three-month adjustment to electricity rates as well. The three-month adjustment from April to June sees an increase of 5 rupees and 40 paise per unit.
Nepra will hear the government’s request on September 11, after hearing the federal government’s request, Nepra will take a decision.
