In the Judicial Complex Attack Case, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Presented in the Anti-Terrorism Court, Where the Court Sent Him to Judicial Remand.
In Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court, the hearing of the Judicial Complex attack case against Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was conducted by Judge Abu Al-Hasnat Zulqarnain.
The police had requested a further 10-day physical remand for Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, but Sardar Abdul Razzaq, his defense attorney, mentioned that a 2-day physical remand had already been granted by the duty judge.
Judge Abu Al-Hasnat Zulqarnain instructed the submission of the documents related to Pervaiz Elahi’s physical remand.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s lawyer stated that the Lahore High Court had suspended the proceedings against him, adding that he was not a part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in March when the case was registered.
The lawyer further argued that former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had joined PTI in April and that they had been facing various cases against him since June.
Subsequently, the Anti-Terrorism Court rejected the police’s request for a further 10-day physical remand and sent Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to judicial remand.
