Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar has said that Justice (Rtd) Tasadeq Hussain Jilani had obtained his consent before making him the head of the commission.
While talking to Geo News program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada, Prime Minister Nazir Tarar said that he was not surprised by the Supreme Court taking Sumoto as Justice (retd) Tasadeq Hussain Jilani had resigned from the commission. The information had reached the Prime Minister House an hour before the Sumoto notice.
The Law Minister said that after the approval of the Commission’s TORs by the Cabinet, the Prime Minister asked me to contact Tasadeq Jilani again, and the TORs were also sent to him, after which he happily accepted the offer to become the head of the Commission.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that after Tasadeq Jilani’s refusal, it is a right decision for the Supreme Court to take suo moto, but I think that the Supreme Court cannot inquire into the facts within the scope of Article 184 III.
