He said that today I have spoken to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz about how to give relief to the oppressed sections of the country. It has been decided to give a package for immediate relief in the bills of August and September in the summer months that up to 500 units will be given a relief of Rs 14 per unit to domestic consumers.
He said that this is a huge relief, for giving relief of Rs 14 per unit, the Punjab government will spend Rs 45 billion, for which the Punjab government has reduced the expenditure from its various sectors, cut the development funds.
The former prime minister further said that this relief will not end here, for further relief, solar panels will be given to homes in Punjab so that their electricity bills will be reduced further, for which the Punjab government is planning to spend 700 billion rupees. Shahbaz Sharif is also requested to work with Punjab government and other provinces to provide solar panels to the people.
