US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) chief William Burns says that US intelligence believes that Israel and Iran do not want an all-out war.
According to a foreign news agency, William Burns has said that the risk of increasing tension in the region is real, Israel is very carefully thinking about the response to the Iranian attack.
He said that despite Israel’s careful thinking, there is a risk of misjudgment, the Middle East is a place where complicated things are happening all the time.
William Burns says that the Iranian attack has exposed some limitations in Iran’s military capabilities, and Israel and the US need to take Iranian military capabilities seriously.
The CIA chief added that the leaders involved in the Gaza negotiations must understand that enough is enough, especially in the Middle East, where a perfect situation is rare.
They also say that a cease-fire in Gaza, an agreement to release hostages, will require difficult decisions and compromises with a view to long-term stability.
