Karachi: The Bohra community residing in Karachi is celebrating Eid ul-Adha today with religious fervor and devotion. Eid prayers were held in various parts of the city, and the ritual of animal sacrifice is ongoing following the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S).
Morning Eid congregations were held in Bohra community mosques, with large gatherings of worshippers. Significant crowds were observed at mosques and Imambargahs in areas such as Saddar, Hyderi, Baloch Colony, and Burns Road. After the prayers, religious scholars delivered sermons highlighting the essence of sacrifice and paid tribute to the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S).
Following the Eid prayers, animal sacrifices began following the Sunnah. Strict security measures have been implemented throughout the city, and cleanliness is being maintained to ensure the public faces no inconvenience.
It is noteworthy that the Bohra community traditionally celebrates Eid ul-Adha one day earlier than most other Muslims, based on the lunar calendar. Following this custom, they are observing Eid today.
