The Punjab Education Department has decided to take strict action against teachers of schools that recorded disappointing results in the 9th-grade board examinations. The department has requested a list of schools across Punjab where both 9th and 10th grade results were found to be unsatisfactory.
According to reports, Punjab’s Education Minister has decided to begin this action from schools in his own constituency. One of the options under consideration is the termination of teachers serving in schools that performed poorly. The minister stated that a list of schools from his constituency has already been demanded, and the process will begin with schools in Pattoki.
It should be noted that yesterday, the Lahore Board announced the results of the 9th-grade examinations. The results revealed that 55% of students across Lahore Division failed. Among the failed candidates, the number of boys was significantly higher. Out of a total of 308,000 students, 169,000 failed to pass their exams. The data further showed that 53% of students from the Science group and 63% from the Arts group failed.
