A significant development has emerged in the murder case of Lady Doctor Mehwish, who was shot dead on KDA Double Road in Kohat, as investigators have identified key suspects and revealed a possible motive behind the killing. Following the incident, police expanded their investigation and confirmed the identification of the main accused.
District Police Officer Kohat, Shehbaz Elahi, stated that raids are being conducted at various locations after identifying the suspects, while strict checking is underway at the city’s entry and exit points to ensure their swift arrest. He emphasized that the case is being investigated from all angles and that no one will be considered above the law.
Shehbaz Elahi further assured that justice will be ensured for the family of the deceased doctor and that those responsible will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
According to the Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital, Dr. Mehwish allegedly had a dispute with the husband of a female patient. Reports indicate that Dr. Mehwish handed the individual involved in the altercation over to police personnel stationed at the hospital, after which the situation reportedly escalated.
It is worth recalling that Dr. Mehwish was shot dead two days ago while returning home in a rickshaw after completing her duty at the hospital, an incident that has caused serious concern within the medical community.
Following her murder, the Young Doctors Association staged a protest and announced that demonstrations would continue until the suspects are arrested.
