Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 11 runs in the third and deciding match of the three-match ODI series to secure a 2-1 series victory.
The match was played in Mirpur, where Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 290 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs and set a target of 291 for Pakistan.
Tanzid Hasan played a brilliant innings of 107 runs while Towhid Hridoy remained unbeaten on 44. Litton Das scored 41 runs, Saif Hassan made 36, and Najmul Hossain Shanto added 27 runs.
For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 3 wickets while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abrar Ahmed claimed one wicket each.
While chasing the target, Pakistan struggled early in the innings but Salman Ali Agha’s impressive century brought the team close to victory.
Salman Ali Agha scored 106 runs with 9 fours and 4 sixes. Saad Masood contributed 38 runs while Shaheen Afridi added 37 and Abdul Samad scored 34 runs.
However, Pakistan fell short of the target and were all out for 279 runs on the final ball of the match.
For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets, Mustafizur Rahman claimed 3, and Nahid Rana picked up 2 wickets.
It is worth noting that Bangladesh has now won an ODI series against Pakistan after nearly 11 years.
