The Central Power Purchasing Agency has submitted a request to increase electricity prices under the fuel price adjustment for February, which is expected to put an additional financial burden on consumers.
According to the request, an increase of 1.64 rupees per unit has been proposed based on the fuel costs incurred during the month of February.
The CPPA stated in its application that 7.427 billion units of electricity were supplied to distribution companies during February, and the price revision has been recommended accordingly.
NEPRA will hear the request on March 31, after which the authority’s decision will be applied across the country, including consumers of K-Electric.
