Head of Türkiye’s intelligence service Ibrahim Kalin, has stated that the ongoing war against Iran is laying the foundation for a broader regional conflict that could last for decades.
Kalin praised Pakistan’s role in promoting peace, saying that Türkiye supports diplomatic efforts and negotiations led by Pakistan and other countries to reduce tensions in the region.
In his address, he said that Iran’s attack on Gulf countries is unacceptable, but it should not be overlooked who initiated the conflict.
He further stated that Türkiye will play an active role in de-escalating tensions and restoring stability. According to him, the 12-day war in June served as a testing phase for the current conflict, while also setting the stage for long-term tensions among Turkish, Kurdish, Arab, and Persian communities.
The Turkish intelligence chief warned that the Iran conflict could deepen divisions in the region, and unfortunately, the consequences of a broader regional war may impact billions of people globally. He added that those who initiated the conflict are creating new realities in Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and other regions, which will have lasting implications for the future of the region.
