British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott has expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in securing a key ceasefire, acknowledging its role on the global stage.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Jane Marriott said that Pakistan’s quiet and effective diplomacy is commendable and played a positive role in achieving the ceasefire.
She further stated that Pakistan demonstrated responsible and effective diplomatic engagement during this sensitive situation, which contributed to making the ceasefire possible.
It is worth noting that following Pakistan’s successful diplomacy, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week extension in the ceasefire, which is being seen as a significant step toward reducing tensions in the region.
The US President made the ceasefire announcement nearly an hour and a half before the deadline given to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face action related to civilian infrastructure, marking a turning point in the situation.
