A second case of monkeypox has been reported in Karachi, raising health concerns in the city.
According to the Medical Superintendent of Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital, monkeypox has been confirmed in a 22-year-old male, who has been placed under medical observation.
He stated that the patient is a resident of Buffer Zone and was shifted to isolation after testing positive, in order to prevent further spread of the virus.
The MS added that the affected individual has no recent travel history, increasing concerns about possible local transmission.
According to hospital officials, the first case of monkeypox in Karachi was reported in March, highlighting the importance of continued surveillance and monitoring.
