The closure of several major roads in Islamabad has caused significant inconvenience for citizens, while the police have appealed to the public to remain patient and cooperate to manage the traffic situation effectively.
According to reports, diversions have been implemented on various roads across the city. Roads leading from Zero Point towards Murree have been closed, while traffic traveling from Faizabad to Murree via the Expressway is being redirected towards Zero Point.
A citizen reported that after reaching Zero Point, traffic is being sent back towards Faizabad, creating confusion and frustration among commuters. The citizen further stated that Shakarparian and Chand Tara Road are also closed, and people have been stuck in traffic for the past three hours.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Islamabad Police stated that the movement of foreign delegations is ongoing in the city, which has led to heightened security measures.
The police spokesperson added that traffic is being temporarily halted at different times on Club Road, Murree Road, and the Express Highway to ensure security arrangements.
The police further stated that all entry and exit points of the Red Zone remain closed, and citizens are requested to cooperate with law enforcement agencies during diversions and use alternate routes.
