Severe loadshedding during the 2026 matric examinations in Karachi has created major difficulties for students, forcing them to attempt their papers in intense heat and humidity, making the examination process more challenging.
According to details, prolonged power outages are being reported at exam centers in suburban areas, particularly in Landhi and nearby localities, where students are facing harsh conditions due to lack of electricity.
Town education officials and school administration expressed serious concern over the situation at Government Boys and Girls Secondary School Khuldabad, Landhi, where more than 1,200 candidates are present, with an additional 300 students further increasing the pressure.
The school principal stated that routine loadshedding is taking place during exam hours from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, which is the most critical time for students, while the absence of fans has worsened the heat.
Students complained that excessive sweating is making their answer sheets wet and difficult to manage, affecting their performance.
According to the school administration, multiple requests have been made to the electricity provider to exempt exam centers from loadshedding, but no action has been taken so far.
