A suicide attack on a military checkpost in South Waziristan was successfully foiled by security forces, though seven people were injured in the incident.
According to security sources, attackers attempted to target an army post in the Azam Warsak area using an explosives-laden vehicle, but a high-alert response by the forces prevented the attack.
Sources stated that security personnel destroyed the vehicle before it could reach its target, resulting in the death of the suicide attacker on the spot.
The vehicle and attacker were neutralized at a distance from the post, which helped avert major casualties, although seven individuals sustained injuries.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to eliminate any further threats.
According to Medical Superintendent Dr. Jan Muhammad, the injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Wana, where they are receiving medical treatment.
