Electricity consumers across Pakistan have received welcome relief after the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority announced a reduction of Rs1.99 per unit in electricity tariffs.
According to the notification, the reduction has been approved under the quarterly adjustment for January to March 2026 and will remain effective from June through August 2026.
The relief will apply to electricity consumers nationwide, including customers of K-Electric.
The regulator stated that the tariff reduction will provide overall relief worth approximately Rs67.17 billion to consumers.
Officials said the adjustment would help lower electricity bills for millions of residential, commercial, and industrial consumers during the three-month period.
Analysts believe the reduction will ease some of the financial pressure on consumers at a time when inflation and energy costs remain major economic concerns.
