A decision has been made regarding salary increases for Punjab government employees in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, with adjustments expected to follow the federal government’s policy.
According to sources, Punjab has proposed allocating Rs650 billion for salaries and Rs505.8 billion for pensions in the next budget.
Provincial revenue collections are projected to reach Rs1.33 trillion during the fiscal year.
The proposed budget also includes an allocation of Rs800 billion for the Punjab Finance Commission, while Rs25 billion has been earmarked for social protection initiatives.
Additionally, Rs150 billion has been proposed for the Clean Punjab Program.
Budget recommendations suggest allocating Rs580.2 billion for operational expenditures and Rs221.9 billion for various investment programs.
Sources further indicate that Rs54 billion may be allocated for externally funded development projects, while Rs570 billion has been proposed for development and capital expenditures.
Under the draft budget, Punjab’s total expenditures are expected to reach Rs3.569 trillion.
